What is a fashion designer?

In the past, this specialty

It was called "fashion designer" and was considered very

prestigious. Soviet fashion designers worked

mainly in fashion houses and

Developed clothing collections

had little in common with what they represented

world podiums their colleagues from other countries:

it was not a haute couture fashion, but one that

intended for Soviet women.

Of course, there were also closed studios.

for the party and Soviet elite, but

the majority of the population was satisfied

ordinary atelier or awl at tailors "according to

acquaintance”, because the assortment of clothes in

stores was, to put it mildly, depressing. Those

those who did not have the means for an individual

tailoring, became their own fashion designers and

dressmakers and sometimes on antediluvian sewing

machines "Singer" created real

sewing masterpieces.

In those days, cutting and sewing courses were very popular, in which our mothers and grandmothers mastered the complex art of modeling and sewing clothes. This gave them the opportunity to significantly save the family budget. In addition, it was always possible to change something for children, in general, to dress inexpensively and decently.

Today there is a resurgence of interest in cutting and sewing courses. This is apparently due to the fact that women are tired of the same type of market products and want to look not standard, not “like everyone else”, but more original and individual. In addition, sewing makes it possible to realize the creative potential that is inherent in every woman and which she seeks to put into practice.

Not the last role is played by the global trend in fashion to create unique things with your own hands - what is now commonly called hand-made. It can be anything - arts and crafts, various accessories (belts, belts, etc.), jewelry, knitwear, hand-sewn clothes, batik. No wonder batik courses have become so popular.

Tailoring specialists are a perfect example from this point of view: they are always dressed in a stylish and original way, and besides, they change toilets quite often. Such specialists are now graduating from colleges and institutes specializing in the training of personnel for the light industry in general and clothing in particular, as well as courses in cutting and sewing.

Design in light industry

Seamstress, tailor, cutter, fashion designer - for an ignorant person, the difference between these professions is not particularly clear, but for professionals it is a matter of professional pride. A fashion designer, or fashion designer, as this profession is now called, is the highest rung in the sewing hierarchy. However, sometimes people who do not have a diploma, but who have completed clothing modeling courses, amaze connoisseurs with their delicate taste, creative imagination, creative approach to fashion trends and, importantly, to the excellent technical performance of their models.

The creation of collections, however, like any creative project, begins with the birth of an image. To paraphrase a well-known quote, we can say that in the beginning there was an IMAGE, and it was in the plans of the CREATOR, and it laid the foundation for CREATION.

The creative process is in many ways a mystery. How a new image is born, often the master himself is not able to explain. Of course, talent and intuition help, the ability to catch ideas that literally "rush in the air." Sometimes the starting point is a glimpse of clothes seen on the street, looking at books on the history of costume or old fashion magazines, a movie, a TV show. In a word, the whole world surrounding the couturier serves as a source of inspiration for him.

Creation of collections of models of clothes

It is customary to call a collection several models of clothing for various purposes (from 5-7 items of clothing for novice fashion designers, for famous couturiers to 60-80 models), which are united by a certain idea, correspond to a certain theme, have a similar color scheme and are created for a certain season (spring- summer or autumn-winter).

When the idea of the collection is clearly defined, the master creates a series of sketches, which outlines the main features of future models. A great many sketches are created, although usually the number of models in the collection of even the most famous masters does not exceed 80. Further, the strictest selection of draft sketches is carried out. Those of them that are destined to be embodied in products are refined and adjusted to the final form.

In none of the major fashion houses does its head prepare a collection project alone from start to finish. A huge creative team headed by the maestro is working on it: young designer trainees and assistants carefully draw all the details and create color sketches. Specialists in accessories and footwear also participate in the work on the collection. Some of the assistant couturiers remain "apprentices" for life, and the most talented ones, having completed an internship with a celebrity, open their own "fashion" Houses.

Creation of collections of models of clothes

Selected working sketches are submitted for technical implementation to designers and technologists. The first ones turn artistic sketches into technical ones, containing a clear drawing of model features, taking into account the principle of proportioning and existing ways shaping. The technical sketch serves as the initial base for further design and technological preparation the manufacturing process of the designed model. In particular, for the development of patterns. Technologists develop a sequence of tailoring each model, taking into account the properties of materials, the technological equipment used. And only then, after cutting out the details of the future product, the model is made by seamstresses.

Creation of collections of models of clothes

The process of sewing models is very specific, and each House has its own characteristics. The creation of haute couture collections, which are often real works of applied art, involves the use of a large amount of handiwork: embroidery, rhinestones, sequins, imitation pearls, complex appliqués. It often takes two or three months to finish a particularly luxurious toilet. At the House of Christian Dior, for example, until recently, all haute couture designs were entirely made by hand, but now the simplest operations are performed on sewing machines. For each ensemble, shoes, bags, bijouterie, jewelry are selected or ordered from other companies. Sometimes the couturier himself makes sketches of accessories, and also thinks over the style of hairstyles and makeup for fashion models. The creation of all collections, and especially those where there is "know-how", is carried out in the strictest confidence from competitors. Very often, on the eve of the shows, there is an increased security of the place of storage of the developed collection.

Creation of collections of models of clothes

The first show of the collection takes place in the showroom of the House or in some other spectacular, and sometimes completely unusual place: in a museum, restaurant, public institution, in hangars, warehouses, parks and even at metro stations. House a they no longer keep a permanent staff of fashion models (it has become too expensive), but order them through modeling bureaus. For each collection, girls are selected either with a traditional image for the couturier style, or corresponding in appearance and manner of showing the style of a particular collection. Hairdresser and makeup artist are invited specifically for the show.

Creation of collections of models of clothes

The technical side of the show is a huge job. Fashion models must first be “painted”, i.e. draw up a map of their order of release. If one girl demonstrates several models, between the exits she should have enough time to change clothes (one to one and a half minutes is allotted for this). The fashion model is assisted by a small group that knows all the accessories and the wisdom of putting on complex toilets. In a perfectly show-ready collection, each model is packaged in a transparent bag along with all the accessories. Attached to the package is a card with the name of the fashion model, her photo and exit number. All models of one fashion model hang on one bracket. The organizer of the demonstration of models from a particular House monitors the order of the show. The author himself in this time is behind the scenes too .

Creation of collections of models of clothes

The collections are always designed to sell, although some models are so fantastic that they almost certainly will not be bought. Not only extravagance, but also prices scare away: a haute couture dress costs several hundred thousand dollars. Therefore, the main income for the creators of haute couture comes from the sale of their own perfumes (all famous couturiers have branded perfumes), accessories and fashionable trifles with the brand name. In addition, collections are created that are more adapted to the sales conditions (also very expensive), which are sold in company stores - boutiques. Each model can be repeated in three to five copies and almost always from fabrics of different colors. However, you should know that there are few buyers of real haute couture clothes. Experts believe that there are no more than 2.5 thousand of them all over the world.

The actual fashion of the season is determined by ready-to-wear collections created by famous masters for the purpose of replicating for sale.

Design in light industry

In this profession, it is very important to learn:

  • make various products
  • be able to "plant" the product on the human figure

Is it always necessary to follow fashion? Masters - fashion designers say that the appearance can either tell about a person or hide his personality. This means that in the construction of the external appearance, or, as they say more often now, the image, there are no trifles.

When in 1903 the twenty-year-old

Gabrielle Chanel came to Paris

She was able to enter the service only in

Like many peers, Chanel

dreamed of a career as an actress and,

After her divorce from her first husband

Chanel got a hat shop and

the world. This was the beginning of her career.

All her life she followed one

motto: “Do not forget that inside the dress

female". Therefore, her outfits were

simple and elegant, designed for

appearance both at work and in the theater and

immediately became popular.

Chanel was a great designer and came up with designs that were repeated in fashion several times over the course of a century - for example, her famous little black dress.

Chanel's secret was a slight improvement in the usual outfits. For example, the traditional straight skirt was made so that you could cross your legs.

Chanel has always used non-traditional fabrics or those that other fashion designers did not turn to, sometimes not noticing the advantages hidden in them and the possibility of multifunctional use: knitwear, tweed, flannel. Therefore, Chanel's clothes were not only elegant, but also comfortable to wear.

In addition to clothing, Chanel was soon one of the first to sell all kinds of accessories, supplementing her idea of not only dressing a woman beautifully, elegantly and practically, but also creating a harmonious look of a modern woman.

In addition to clothing, Chanel was soon one of the first to sell all kinds of accessories, supplementing her idea of not only dressing a woman beautifully, elegantly and practically, but also creating a harmonious look of a modern woman. The perfume Chanel No. 5 invented by her has been one of the most popular fragrances in the world for forty years now. That is why one can only agree with the words of Gabrielle Chanel, said to one of the fans: "There are many of you - Chanel is one."

Project relevance

Working with fabric, making clothes, doing work with your own hands is one of the means of self-expression, developing creative thinking, which makes it possible to realize their ideas in the manufacture of a particular garment.

Introduction

In the process of manufacturing garments on an industrial scale, many people of various professions take part: a fashion designer, designer, technologist, sewing equipment operator, clothing demonstrator. These professionals put a piece of themselves, their individuality for the people who will wear the things they have created. At the classes in the creative workshop "Grace" there is an opportunity to combine the work of various professions and bring your ideas to life.

History of home clothes

Relaxing at home, what clothes do you prefer? Someone will say - a comfortable velvet suit, someone will imagine a silk lace peignoir, and someone will even remember a T-shirt with the inscription - "A woman, not a man, she is a Goddess." Few people realize that home women's clothing has come a long way to what we are used to wearing today.

It turns out that she gained popularity in the Age of Enlightenment, when status frock coats, tailcoats and uniforms for the military began to be used everywhere, although it appeared much earlier, in ancient times. It's just that in the 16-17 centuries, women's outerwear for men became more and more bulky and poorly suited for constant wear. And it was then that people began to use a comfortable and light dress in everyday life, comfortable for the body and allowing you to move freely. They called these things in different ways: for women - contushes, hoods and matinet, for men - dressing gowns, also matinee jackets and caps (which covered their heads without a wig). There were even special women's "boudoir" dresses in which it was possible to receive guests, unlike a dressing gown, in which it was indecent to appear in front of strangers.

In Russia, there was also home clothing - a shirt. It was worn by both women and men. It could be washed, and when the thing completely fell into disrepair, it was altered for children. Many sources claim that a shirt is a kind of sacred clothing, it was not just that the son got it from the father, and the daughter from the mother, regardless of whether the family could afford to sew new clothes for children or not. It's just that our ancestors believed that in this way their protection from misfortunes and troubles also passes to children.
Shirts were decorated with ornaments that came to us from pre-Christian times, and each pattern was one or another amulet for its owner. They were sewn from linen and hemp fiber. Moreover, for men they used a certain fiber, which was supposed to increase their strength and masculinity.

At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, in the era of Art Nouveau, the image of a woman became so active that simple practical costumes became the usual dressing room for milliners and governesses. It was then that a woman put on trousers for the first time, thereby declaring equal rights with men. Coco Chanel actively began to "promote" pajamas as homewear.

In the topic of the history of women's homewear, one cannot fail to mention negligee. The word "peignoir" itself comes from the French "peigner" - to comb with a comb. In ancient times, this was the name of a loose-fitting linen jacket, which was worn after taking a bath and combed hair in it. Over time, the peignoir turned into a luxurious version of a morning dress - made of natural silk or cambric with lace.

Every woman always tries to be beautiful, stylish and elegant, regardless of whether she is at work or at home. If clothes for work give us a business look, then home clothes help to create a soft and gentle look. After all, when we come home, we relax, communicate with people close to us, and the time spent in such an environment is one of the most calm and pleasant moments in our lives. Already behind the time when the main, and maybe the only home clothing was a dressing gown. Currently, we can purchase any clothes that we will wear at home. The range of such clothes is very wide and you can always pick up the necessary things for the house according to the season. If in warm weather light sundresses, shorts, T-shirts and T-shirts are comfortable for us, then for cold weather we can purchase, but it is better to sew warm funny outfits for the house from fleece ourselves.

fleece fabric

When was fleece invented? This happened in 1979 as a result of research conducted by the laboratory of the American company Malden Mills. The developers of the new material received Nobel Prize in chemistry and named the new invention Polarfleece. The material was created as a substitute for wool, which would allow the body to "breathe" better.

Today, fleece is very popular, the material is especially widely used in the production of clothing, as well as home textiles.

The raw material for the production of fleece is a synthetic fiber, which can be both primary and secondary (recycled plastic bottles, film). Fleece has no natural analogue.

Fleece is a synthetic material, soft, fleecy and fluffy. It contains polyester and other man-made fibres. The material is lightweight, water-repellent and unpretentious. Fleece retains heat well, one might say, like real wool. Yes, and its name - "fleece" comes from the English word - fleece, as they originally called sheared sheep or goat wool.

The structure of the fabric is such that the body in fleece clothing "breathes" well. The hygroscopicity and breathability of the material creates a cozy atmosphere for the body, so it is indispensable in tailoring for outdoor activities. The material maintains the temperature well, at which it is neither hot nor cold. It is able to retain heat even if you find yourself in the rain. If sportswear has become your fleece product, then the properties of the fabric are such that it does not absorb sweat moisture, therefore, in order not to be wet, you should wear thermal underwear first, and then fleece. During strong winds, it is better to wear a windbreaker over the fleece.

As mentioned, the fabric is very light, that is, taking a fleece jacket with you on the road will not cause big problems. In addition, the elasticity of the fleece allows you to move freely, while the effect of "puffy knees" or "sagging elbows" does not occur, the original shape is preserved. The fleece fabric washes well and dries quickly, which is so important on long trips.

Those who wear fleece jackets have probably noticed more than once that the fabric also has heat-insulating properties. Even if it rains, you won't feel cold. The fleece fabric is based on a polyester or other microfiber fabric, fluffy on both sides, so air bubbles inside such a “fur edge” are a heat insulator. Fleece is durable and wear-resistant, which means that the service life of products made from this fabric is quite long.

And lastly, the fabric is hypoallergenic, so clothes are sewn from it not only for adults, but also for children.

The disadvantages include electrification and rapid ignition.

As you can see, fleece, which replaced woolen products, has its own special and unique properties that are not identical to wool.

Fleece varieties

Fleece fabrics differ in texture and thickness, which allows you to produce various garments and home textile. The manufacturing technology of the material has been improved many times and now you can find fleece with an anti-pilling coating, which enhances its wear resistance. Initially, fleece was a rather flammable material, but special processing made it possible to eliminate this drawback.

First of all, fleece fabrics differ in density - from 100 to 600 g / m², and in appearance. Fleece with a thickness of less than 100g/m² is called microfleece, the material is quite thin. It is used for thin linen.

Polarfleece- slightly heavier than 100 g/m², used for thermal underwear, leggings and thin sweatshirts.

medium density- the most common type with a density of 200 g / m², used for children's clothing, hats, scarves, socks, mittens.

Dense– 300 g/m² thick, used for winter wear as well as for home textiles.

Extra dense polar fleece with a density of 400-600 g / m², used for tourist clothing and equipment.

Differences in fabrics by processing method

Many types of fleece differ in the way of processing, as a result of which certain properties of the material are improved: anti-pilling, water-repellent, anti-flammable, anti-static. In order for the material to retain its fluffiness and thermal insulation properties, some manufacturers carry out a special processing of the material, then the fleece does not wrinkle over time, and remains fluffy for a long time without forming “pellets”.

By appearance

Regular fleece has the same surface on both sides, there are other types where one side is more fluffy or denser. The material may also differ in pile height.

Composition

Fleece in combination with lycra - polar fleece is more wear-resistant;

with spandex - more elastic (gloves, leggings, etc.);

bipolar fleece - the top layer is wind and water resistant, the bottom layer is warming;

windblock - a high-tech type with increased windproof properties, a membrane layer is located between two layers of polarfleece.

All possible varieties are obtained by special technological and chemical treatments. But since the raw material from which fleece is made is inexpensive, the prices for products made from it are quite affordable.

All fleece products are treated with special solutions to give the material special properties, including antibacterial ones, so fleece is an unfavorable breeding ground for dust mites, mold, fungi and other microorganisms, and moths do not start in it.

Application of fleece fabric

Based on all its advantages, fleece is especially popular in sportswear (jackets, suits). But just everyday clothes are also made from fleece: hats, sweatshirts, trousers, mittens, socks, thermal underwear, bathrobes, jackets, vests and even shirts. Plaids, various bedspreads, blankets are made from home textiles.

Fleece Care

Although fleece is wear-resistant and unpretentious, there are also care rules for it. The garments should be washed by hand or in a machine on a delicate cycle, the temperature should not exceed 40 °C. Like most synthetics, fleece does not like high temperatures, and at 60 ° C it can lose its shape forever. After washing, things are slightly wrung out, it is not necessary to unscrew. Detergents are better liquid (for delicate washing) that do not contain bleach.

You can dry the products under natural conditions, you can simply hang them so that the water is glass, and then carefully lay them out on the surface, things will dry quickly enough and retain their original appearance. Fleece products in the machine in the spin mode should not be dried, it should not be done in a dryer, and even more so on radiators, heaters and over a fire.

In no case should you iron fleece products, a temperature of +60 ° C will simply melt them.

Fleece has conquered the clothing market, especially for outdoor activities and sports, and has become an integral part of our wardrobe.

Now you see that fleece fabric is very necessary, because no natural fiber has such a combination of useful qualities as fleece.

Requirements for home clothes

    Operational determined primarily by the type of product. The most important characteristic of this indicator is reliability (durability, maintainability);

    Aesthetic: beauty, conformity of clothes to the age, physique and appearance of a person;

    Hygienic: thermal properties, hygroscopicity, water, air, dust and gas permeability;

Economic: the use of advanced processing methods, modern equipment, the use of rational layouts, which reduces the cost of production.

Equipment selection

Hand needles No. 3, machine needles No. 90-100, pins, scissors, thimble.

    Ruler, measuring tape, scissors.

Threads for machine work and hand work.

    Steam iron, ironing board, iron.

    Sewing machine.

Auxiliary materials: pattern paper, felt.

Stages of work on the project

Bank of ideas

The land of the rising sun - Japan gave modern youth culture a new trend, the so-called costumes kigurumi. To fully understand what it is, you will have to penetrate a little into the secrets of the Japanese language, because a detailed analysis of the word turns out that it comes from the verb kiru - to wear and nuigurumi - a noun that translates as " soft toy". Behind such an unusual name are no less eccentric outfits, which are carnival costumes of animals, cartoon characters.

For people with a sense of humor, a homemade suit in the form of a cute bunny, kangaroo or red fox will take pride of place in the wardrobe.

Development of sketches of models and production of a collection

Having studied the direction of fashion, the requirements for clothing of this kind, we proposed our own models.

Further work continues on individual program. There is a concretization of the stages of work on the embodiment of the image into a real product. Each student puts forward for himself the problem of his creative project to create a model, depending on what he needs to know, study, find something that will allow him to proceed to the practical manufacture of a suit.

Difficulties in working on a project

The main difficulty of the project was working with fabric

Hair problem. There is a pile on the surface of the fleece, which looks different if it is smoothed in different directions. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate the consumption of fabric in such a way that all the details of the cut can be laid out with the pile lying in one direction.

Many types of fleece stretch well, especially along the transverse. This is both good and bad. On the one hand, it is easy to stretch it along the stitch line when sewing. On the other hand, it is necessary to carefully process the neckline, armholes, cuffs in order to subsequently avoid their stretching in the sock.

Fleece is not very convenient to cut with scissors, and it is capricious to the quality of machine needles.

After each work on the sewing machine and overlock, they must be thoroughly cleaned.

Economic part

On average, one suit from the collection required 3 m of fabric with a width of 1.50 m and cost 250 rubles. for 1 meter, threads, 3 spools for the price of 16 rubles, a zipper for the price of 60 rubles. Total - 858 rubles. In the store, the cost of a fleece suit for sizes 42-46 is from 1500 rubles. up to 5000r. and higher depending on the brand.

Results of project work

Working with fabric, making clothes, doing work with your own hands is one of the means of self-expression, developing creative thinking, making it possible to realize your ideas in the manufacture of a particular garment. Brief history of fashion, clothing styles. Who would have thought that the history of fashion began many years before our era. With the onset of the Stone Age, it became much colder in Europe, and decorations were replaced by warm skins. The paws of animals were used as straps, their backs were used as skirts. From 2900 BC fabrics appear, later the fabrics are already draped in a small fold, and one-piece suits for nomadic horsemen are sewn. In 2000 B.C. Nefertiti wore a robe called khaki - a royal, transparent veil. Her husband wears a loincloth - six. In 800 B.C. The Greeks wear something similar to two pieces of cloth, fastened together at the shoulders, tied with a belt. Their women at that time are wrapped in a piece of dense fabric, a similar attire is called peplos. Since 400, barbarian raids have been taking place on Europe, who are dressed mainly in pants called bras, helmets with horns and chain mail. At the same time, silk came to Byzantium from China, which greatly changed the appearance of the costumes. They were distinguished by special luxury, they were also decorated with jewels and pearls. And the women had a long veil covering their heads. Since 1100 caravans have been carrying furs. The crusaders are dressed in silk robes, turbans and delightful slippers. Already since 1350, the artists and poets of France and Italy had a goal - the search for beauty. It was then that fashion began to emerge in the form familiar to us. Then pointed women's hats, as well as various designs made of fabric, were a success.

Almost a century later, when France ends the Hundred Years' War, and the Renaissance begins in Italy, silk is spun in Tuscany, and unusual clothes are created for the holidays. Women at that time wear an upelyand with a train, while men wrap a scarf around the top of their caps, and stockings-pants are painted in such a way that I make my legs “rainbow”. At the end of the 17th and beginning of the 18th centuries, false hair for women came into fashion. Entire structures were built on the head: flowers, favorite animals, fruits, dolls, ships. They reflected the taste of those who wore them. At the same time, women's dresses look like a corset from above, while a fluffy skirt is located below. And already in 1853, Levi Strauss created the first jeans. Since the beginning of the 19th century, new transport has required new clothes. The women's skirt fits snugly around the waist and flares out at the bottom, allowing them to move freely on the tricycle. In the 60s, there is a fashion for fragile girls, the most popular model of Twiggy. And since the 90s, a unisex fashion has arisen, and fashion designers work all over the world, the first Victorias Secret shows, as well as fashion for jewelry, gold. Fashion is constantly evolving. Who among us does not want to be fashionable and stylish? To do this, it is not at all necessary to blindly follow fashion trends that replace one another with lightning speed. It is quite enough to find your own style of clothing that will be in harmony with your image.

Fashion and style in clothes. It is very important to distinguish between the concepts of style and fashion. Style is a distinctive feature, the individuality of a person, manifested in the choice of clothes, makeup, behavior. Fashion is just a direction that designers offer to society. Fashion is fleeting and changeable. Style, if chosen correctly, remains with a person forever and ultimately affects both a person’s life and his behavior, as well as manners and attitude. What is style? The simplest definition of style sounds like the ability to choose among fashion items (clothing, accessories, jewelry) those that in a certain way correspond to your figure, appearance, lifestyle, habits and interests. Style is, first of all, the correspondence of clothes, shoes and accessories to each other, the season, the venue of this or that event or the event you are at, your mood, your appearance and character. Each person can have their own style, which is not easy to find.

The most famous fashion designers. 1. Betsy Johnson 2. Tom Ford 3. Donatella Versace 4. Ralph Lauren 5. Marc Jacobs 6. Valentino Clemente Lodovico Giaravani 7. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana 8. Lee Alexander McQueen 9. John Galliano 10. Stella McCartney

The idea of creating and choosing a product for manufacturing. Creation idea own clothes came to me in the third grade, when the girls and I were sewing aprons at the Technology lessons. At that moment, I thought - why not sew something interesting, beautiful and, besides, it can be worn ... First I drew various dresses, skirts, blouses, then I started sewing outfits for my dolls. There were many attempts to create different clothes for myself, and it actually worked out quite well. In my work, I want to describe the process of making a five-minute summer dress, which is very easy to make at home, without cutting and sewing skills, with little material costs, and this dress can be worn and be fashionable and stylish.

Choice of fabric. The most important thing in choosing a fabric for this dress is that the fabric is not only bright in color, but also its texture, which should be close to silk. Synthetic fabrics with such a structure are also suitable. Another important point - the fabric should not be transparent. I chose from three types of fabrics, the choice fell on fabric number 3.

Dress making. 1. We take a piece of fabric about 1 meter 40 cm by 1 meter 2. we bend the upper part by about 6-7 cm 3. we evenly sew a seam on a sewing machine. 4. Insert an elastic band into the resulting bend (preferably wide, 2.5 cm). 5. We stretch the elastic along the entire length of the dress and tighten it to fit. If there are folds on the fabric, it's okay, this is such a style. 6. In the area of \u200b\u200bthe gum, we fix the dress with threads. 7. We fold the front side of the fabric, turn it inside out and sew it from the wrong side. 8. Excess fabric can be cut off. All! The dress is ready! You can use a belt to accentuate your waist. Bright sandals with a small heel, jewelry and a clutch bag will also be appropriate. But that is not all! If you lower this dress to the waist, it turns into a beautiful stylish skirt. It remains only to pick up a blouse and another outfit is ready. Dress making. 1. Conclusion. In my work, I have tried to describe a brief history fashion, talk about the most famous fashion designers, reflect on what fashion and style are, talk about interesting facts from fashion life. But the most important thing is the practical part of the work, in which I tried to describe as briefly and easily as possible the process of making her own dress, which every girl can make and which can be worn and be stylish and individual, because no one else has such a dress.

A fashion designer (in the Russian tradition) is a specialist in the production of clothing models, a clothing designer, a creator of experimental samples, who determines the image and style, a general design solution, invents new technological solutions and develops decor, chooses colors and materials, thinks through accessories and additions. Modeling participants compete in the modern Youth Delphic Games of Russia.

The fashion designer develops new models of clothes, shoes, hats, haberdashery, prepares the necessary methodological and illustrative materials, supervises the manufacture of products in mass production, creates a basic model design for certain types of products with recommendations for developing a series of models based on them, participates in reviews and exhibitions of models. Using the ideas of designers or couturiers at fashion shows, he creates fashionable clothes for industrial or individual production. A fashion cutter is, first of all, a tailor, an engineer who thoroughly knows the whole process of making clothes, modeling and design methods. His task is to make the thing fit perfectly on the figure, be as functional and comfortable as possible when moving.

A fashion designer is an inventor. He invents, proposes details of the model of clothing, accessories and artistic additions that were not there before, and adapts them to everyday use. The ability to make a sketch that embodies the flight of fancy to the maximum, conveying the richness of fabrics, an unexpected silhouette or features of details is the basis of his work. When creating an original image or developing a style, the designer uses his own developments or those proposed by the couturier at fashion shows. The main thing is the author's idea. These professions are closely intertwined. The designer must know all the ways of processing fabrics and tailoring technology, and the designer must know how to bring the designer's ideas to life. And they all strive to make a person's life more beautiful with the help of clothes.

A fashion designer is a profession in demand, as many people want to create their own image or change it, develop a style using the services of a professional. Personnel agencies of the city and the region invite to work, mainly seamstresses. The work of a fashion designer-cutter or fashion designer can be found directly at the sewing enterprise, offering your portfolio - a collection of sketches and photographs of work. If funds allow, you can open your own atelier or Fashion House, where you can embody your creative ideas and not depend on anyone. It is also possible to work as a stylist or designer-consultant in a clothing and fabrics salon.

If you didn’t manage to get a job as a fashion designer, you can master a related specialty, such as interior design, or take up computer graphics. Life-size puppets are in great demand now. advertising campaigns various firms, carnivals and shows. This can also become one of the areas of application of the fashion designer's talents. But a real woman should be her own fashion designer. Therefore, it seems to me that this profession is relevant for any woman.

The presence of aesthetic taste developed imagination skills: to sketch clothes (including on a computer) to build a pattern, cut fabric sew, embroider, knit, weave knowledge: types of fabrics and their characteristics formulas for constructing patterns color combinations and features of their perception human visual perception of geometric shapes fashion history technology for the production of fabrics and tailoring

In order to become a fashion designer, you need not only desire and talent, it is also desirable to be able to draw and understand that learning to design is a very difficult process, and you will also need to be able to sew, and understand fabrics and much more. However, if you don’t know how to draw, don’t despair, you can take the appropriate courses, because you don’t need to become a great artist, you just need to be able to make sketches, sketches, and learning to draw with perseverance and desire is quite possible. So, you know how to draw, how to hold a needle and thread in your hands, guess what's next, where to go?

In Russia, fashion design is taught in colleges, higher educational institutions and in courses. In principle, design, or rather the ability to sew, can be learned in courses. But it is better to choose courses not for one and a half or two months, but longer ones, because there are courses designed for a year, or even two. In any case, they will teach you how to sew and cut. But a more complete education, nevertheless, is better to receive in the appropriate educational institutions.

1. First, the fashion designer comes up with an image of the model. At this stage, the flight of the master's imagination is not limited by anything. However, the new model must match the theme of the collection, the season, current trends fashion. Be creative, innovative, but at the same time practical and harmonious. 2. Then a sketch of the model is born on paper or on a computer screen. The fashion designer must know that the final result largely depends on how he embodies his image in the drawing. The sketch of the model should be made in a favorable perspective, accurately and clearly display the proportions and colors. The talent of the artist will help to show in the sketch the texture of the fabric, the features of the drapery, to convey the mood of the model.

3. Building a pattern is the most difficult and crucial stage. Much depends on how correctly the calculations are made and the details are drawn. The right cut is able to emphasize the dignity of the figure and hide its flaws. Proper cutting will help save fabric. At this stage, mathematics, drawing and geometry come to the aid of the fashion designer. And a modern, advanced fashion designer cannot do without knowledge of computer programs. Who said that the artist is alien exact sciences?! 4. And then it is sewn from individual parts ready product. Of course, you can hire a seamstress, but a self-respecting fashion designer sews his products with his own hands! (At least until they went into mass production). Oh, how many difficulties along the way! Sweep, try on, rip, sweep again ... stitch, trim, steam, iron, try on. 5. And finally, the most exciting moment - the show!

1900s 1900s Tricycles and the advent of automobiles require new clothing to cover and protect. Male pedestrians wear top hats and long coats with fur-lined pelises. The ladies refused the bustle. The skirt hugs the waist and flares out at the bottom. The top of the dress ends with a high collar, puffed sleeves. The hats are getting huge. For the first time, Revillon offers a fur coat. The fur is no longer used as a lining, but stands on its own. Paul Poiret makes a real revolution by abolishing the corset. He forced to recognize the dress of lively and energetic colors, which emphasizes the figure with a ribbon passing under the chest. The weight of the ladies' attire has decreased from 3 kilograms to 900 grams. Fashion designer Paul Poiret opens his own fashion house. January 21, 1905 designer Christian Dior was born e 1911 fashion designer Paul Poiret released the first designer perfume "Rosina" after the name of his eldest daughter, and also opened the studio "Martina" in Paris after the name of his youngest daughter e Soldiers returning from the First World War do not recognize their own girls: they wear short hair “under Garson”, the hero of a fashionable novel at that time. Charleston and tango dance everywhere. Skirts are getting shorter and shorter. The garter belt replaced the corset. For men, an evening jacket, which in France is called a tuxedo, is suitable to replace the jacket and striped trousers. Coco Chanel showed her little black dress for the first time. It did not produce much effect against the backdrop of the then fashionable bright colors and waited for recognition until the 1930s.

1930s External Video Files 1930s Fashion in the USA The effects of the Wall Street crash of 1929 did not take effect immediately, but only after some time. The Great Depression, a global economic crisis that engulfed all spheres of production and sectors of the economy, ended only at the end of the 30s. The fashion came for soft, flowing, very feminine clothes with a "prudent" length. Most people, no matter how poor they were, wanted to look decent. Women managed to get by during the depression years. Those who could not buy a new dress simply lengthened the old one, because short skirts were no longer worn even during the day. The dress of the ladies reached about the middle of the calves, and everything that was shorter was skillfully lengthened to the desired length with the help of ribbons, frills, wedges. If during the day the length of the skirts reached the middle of the calves, then in the evening they basically wore a long one with a large neckline on the back. The classic attributes of femininity that seemed to have sunk into oblivion reappeared: flounces, bows, ruffles, draperies. The dress is formed on the classic silhouette of the female torso: waist, hips, chest. If it was one-piece, it was intercepted at the waist by a narrow belt. The silhouette was slender and natural, the fabric fell gently. A slight asymmetry is very relevant in the composition of the costume. Fabrics in Art Deco style with unobtrusive geometric patterns or plain dyed. Accessories were a must in the costume of the 30s, for many they were the only available opportunity to bring the wardrobe in line with the new requirements. Narrow envelope bags without a handle were popular, or a small bag-purse with a silver frame latch, or the latest innovation! from plastic. Very few expensive accessories. As for fashionable jewelry, a funny combination of precious stones with artificial ones was universally allowed. Hair, unlike the 20s, grew and carefully styled. Preference was given to blondes. The appropriate complexion was distinguished by that transparent impeccability, which so admired the stars of the movie screen. It seemed to be quite simple to correspond to the ideal of beauty of this time: a woman should be slender, but not boyish, but feminine, in addition, she should be athletic, tanned, laid-back and well-groomed. She learned that true beauty comes from within, and so she valued healthy eating, fresh air, and exercise.

1940s 1941 war, difficult years. Shoes are made with wooden soles, skirts have become shorter. It takes a lot of effort for girls to be fashionable, but for dudes, everything is simple: a hat on the back of the head, a large saggy jacket and skinny trousers, as yet unknown couturier Christian Dior, makes a revolution: now the lines will be elongated and expanded. Narrow waist and accentuated hips are in fashion. Incredible success. All women should elongate their dresses and coats with flounces or stripes of fur, because haute couture "haute couture" dictates so. These are golden times for Balmain, Fata, Balenciaga. Mademoiselle Chanel presents her famous costume, which will be copied and worn by all subsequent generations of women. The fashion includes a semi-coat with a fastened hood, former military clothing.

1950s Trousers are a serious conquest for women who have the right to wear them on all occasions without causing reproach. However, it is strange: dressing like men is not allowed for women involved in skiing and cycling. Freedom of choice has come into fashion: hairstyles with curled chignons or short haircuts, rustling layered fru-frou petticoats or silvery space suits. Ballet shoes also came into fashion. Fashion for a fragile type of woman. At the peak of popularity, the Twiggy model and mini. In the USSR in the 1960s, self-made knitted earmuffs were popular. Since canvas returned to us from America in the form of jeans, jackets and overalls, both sexes have a habit of wearing clothes of the same style, exchanging T-shirts and baseball caps. Since women today have borrowed men's shirts and jackets, men no longer have to be Scottish to wear a skirt. There has never been such a mutual influence and such a wide choice.

1980s In the West, punk continues to have its influence, but a pragmatic yuppie style also appears. Leggings are in vogue. Blonde curls, crew cut hair, green or black mohawks, jackets or oversized coats, miniskirts or maxi dresses, shoes of all colors, flats or heels, retro or tomorrow… You can wear everything. Everything except what was worn last year and in 1984, Jane Birkin's seat on a plane from Paris to London was next to the seat of Hermès chairman Jean-Louis Dumas. In a conversation, Birkin complained to Dumas about her difficulties in choosing a large leather bag for walking on the weekends and described her dream to him. Soon the dream bag was delivered to Birkin's house. This is how the famous Birkin bag appeared. Japanese, Dutch, Italians, Americans, British and especially French fashion designers everywhere. Fashion for unisex style, for minimalism, for "ecological style" s Secret

2000s 2000 Fashion for rhinestones, diamonds, gold, patent leather kind of swarming style Target for the first time in the history of fashion held a vertical fashion show. The event took place on the wall of the Rockefeller Center in New York. The wall was used as a podium, and athletes and gymnasts acted as models. A documentary about Valentino was presented at the Venice Film Festival. The film crew pursued the designer almost to the day for two years. The Russian magazine Vogue celebrated its 10th anniversary, in honor of which an album of photographs "Best of Vogue" appeared in Russian stores in August. The global economic crisis of 2008 hit the fashion industry hard. falling demand for designer and luxury items.

I chose the profession of fashion designer for myself, because I am interested in how clothes are created from a simple drawing that can be used in life, how a masterpiece is recreated. Therefore, I follow fashion, changes in fashion, new trends and, of course, events in the fashion world. Therefore, I simply could not miss the recent fashion week in Moscow. There I got to know this special world of the profession a little closer and it captured me even more, now I have decided exactly on the choice of profession, I will be a fashion designer.
