10.08.2020

ATTENTION! On September 1, 2016, an electronic queue system began to operate at the Varshavsky Most checkpoint (Brest). This means that all citizens crossing the state border at this checkpoint undergo all types of control in the prescribed manner.

The checkpoint Brest (Varshavsky bridge) is located in the city of Brest, Warsaw highway-1. The checkpoint on the Polish side is called Terespol.

Warsaw Bridge accepts only passenger transport around the clock without days off and lunch breaks. Crossing the state border at this checkpoint on a bicycle is not possible.

The throughput capacity of the Warsaw Bridge checkpoint allows to receive 2350 cars, 350 passenger buses per day in both directions. Please note that freight transport is not serviced at this checkpoint!

How to get to Warsaw bridge

Getting to the Brest checkpoint (Varshavsky bridge) from Minsk by car is quite simple: from the Belarusian capital, go to the P1 highway and drive to Dzerzhinsk. From Dzerzhinsk along the M1 highway to Brest, and from Brest along the Warsaw highway to the checkpoint "Brest, avtodorozhny".

Electronic queue at the border with Poland

On September 1, 2016, an electronic queue system began to operate at the Brest checkpoint (Varshavsky Most). The electronic queue is not at all an innovation of the Belarusian authorities; this system is already practiced by a number of countries. In fact, this is very convenient, because. you no longer have to stand in queues for hours, worrying that at the border with Poland, instead of the scheduled hour, you will stand for two or more. Now you can book the border crossing time in advance, which means you can safely make plans.

At the moment, there are two options for an electronic queue at the Brest checkpoint: with and without reservation.

Electronic queue at the border with Poland with booking

First option - electronic queue at the border with Poland with reservation. This option is the most convenient, but requires a few simple steps:

Go to the site belarusborder.by and register in the system.
Book the border crossing time and pay for the reservation. Booking takes 30 minutes, payment - 1 hour. Payment is made online using a credit card.

Booking cost for passenger cars is:

Weekdays - 0.8 base unit (18.4BYN)
Holidays, pre-holidays, weekends and days off - 1 base unit (23BYN).

Booking an electronic queue guarantees you crossing the state border within 1 hour that you have booked. Next, you need to arrive at the Brest checkpoint before the time of booking, go through a separate channel to the waiting area, get a registration number in the waiting area and wait for it to appear on a special board.

Once again, we draw your attention to the fact that you will stay in the waiting area for no more than an hour!

In the waiting area at your service there are: a shop, a cafe, Insurance Company, bank, tire service and toilet.

When your registration number appears on the board, you must arrive at the checkpoint without stopping, and then the standard procedure.

You can book an electronic queue no earlier than 90 days, but no later than 3 hours before the desired border crossing! Consider this!

Electronic queue at the border with Poland without booking

The second option is electronic queue at the border with Poland without booking. This option is less convenient, because does not give you any guarantee of crossing the border at a certain time. In fact, this is the same live queue as before, only you need to wait not on the road, but in the service waiting area, where a toilet, a store, a cafe, an insurance company, a bank and a tire service work for you.

What should be done: arrive at the service waiting area, get a registration number, wait for your number to appear on a special board. After the number appears on the board, proceed to the checkpoint without additional stops and go through the standard border crossing procedure.

Round-the-clock customs control point "Warsaw Bridge" is located in Brest, has an international status and is considered the largest crossing connecting the Republic of Belarus and Poland. His specialization is various customs operations for import into the territory of the Customs Union and further export from it Vehicle and goods individuals.

This contributes to the periodic formation of long queues on some days, sometimes up to 3 km, the standing time in which can be up to 12 hours or more. The average time of crossing the border crossing is 1.5–2 hours, however, at maximum loads it increases to 14 hours, which is due both to the day of the week, time of day, and seasonal nature, holidays.

Electronic transport queuing system

On September 1, 2016, the electronic transport queue system was launched, which allows you to reserve the time for passing one or another type of transport control. This was done to unload the checkpoint and reduce the passage time, because everyone could book the exact time for themselves and pass the border in a separate lane. Thus, the user becomes the owner of a time corridor lasting 1 hour, and loses it if for some reason he is late.

Features of making a booking

To book the electronic queue "Warsaw Bridge" you need to enter the site belarusborder.by and get registered. At the same time, everyone should pay attention to some mandatory conditions services:

  • booking an electronic queue is possible from 3 hours to 90 days before the expected time of crossing the border;
  • the time interval provided is 1 hour;
  • booking is made within 30 minutes;
  • payment for the service does not depend on the category of the vehicle, the desired date of booking and is equal to 1 base unit (24.5 BYN). Payment must be made no later than 60 minutes after booking;
  • the vehicle should be placed at the entrance in front of the special waiting area before the provided time interval.

In case of booking a queue at Varshavsky Most, you should register and take a certain parking space located in the waiting area. After that, you must wait for the registration number to appear on the electronic scoreboard, and then leave the service waiting area and go directly to the checkpoint.

Free registration in the electronic queue

To do this, you should take a place among the traffic flow located at the mobile insurance pavilions located near the Belorusneft gas station. To receive an electronic queue coupon, it is necessary to transfer the vehicle registration certificate to the insurer, after which he will register in the Warsaw Bridge electronic queue, and then return the document along with the coupon. Next, you should take a place in the queue and wait until the number indicated in the ticket is displayed on the electronic scoreboard. This option will also allow you to freely cross the point customs clearance, but unlike pre-registration, when a certain time interval is known, in this case you will have to wait in a general queue. If it is long or scheduled for several hours in advance, then, accordingly, the wait can be significantly delayed.

As practice shows, the introduction of the electronic registration service made it possible to systematize the passage of customs, reduce the waiting time, because people cross the border according to the queue. Along with this, “hangs” of the new system were repeatedly noticed, which increased the number of people waiting, forced to stand longer due to its incorrect operation.

By land transport, many travelers travel through Brest. The border with Poland passes here in three places, so you can easily choose the one that suits you the most. You can also enter the territory of Ukraine at three different customs points.

Brest: border with Poland and Ukraine

Brest is a unique border place. There are six nearby at once. The most popular post "Warsaw Bridge" is also called "Tolmachevo" and "Brest". The border with Poland is crossed daily by many cars and trains. A little further away are customs and Peschatka. On the border with Ukraine there are border crossings Mokrany, Tomashovka and Oltush.

Closest to the city of Brest is the border with Poland. The distance to the city center from Terespol is only 5 kilometers. The nearest border point with Ukraine is about 50 kilometers away.

Border crossing Terespol

Brest is located on the western outskirts of the city - a border town. Next to it, there are 6 crossings at once: Varshavsky Bridge (PP "Brest"), Domachevo, Peschatka, Mokrany, Tomashovka and Oltush.

Warsaw Bridge is the most popular customs border crossing in Brest. Here you can cross the border with Poland both in a live queue and by e-mail. Registration is carried out via the Internet no later than three hours before entering the territory of the border crossing. This crossing is convenient because after it a direct route to the capital of Poland - Warsaw begins. The downside is the huge queues. Sometimes the wait here lasts for five or six hours. This is the main and main border in Brest. Customs is officially called "Terespol".

There are several corridors of control, which are divided into border, customs, sanitary and quarantine (including phytosanitary), automobile and veterinary.

The advantages of this border crossing is that life is already in full swing at the border. There are small towns near Terespol: you can rent a hotel, stop by for souvenirs, and shop at the supermarket.

Especially popular shopping complex"Pajero" in the village of Horbow with tourists traveling by bus. Here everyone makes a stop both on the way to Europe and on the way home.

Alternative border crossings: Domachevo

If you do not want to stand in a long queue, then you can use the Domachevo customs border checkpoint. He also has international status. The road to Domachevo goes along the Belarusian-Polish border and starts from the Terespol border checkpoint. You need to move about 45 kilometers to the south towards Ukraine, pass the villages of Priluki, Znamenka, Zbunin.

The Domachevo point is convenient for travelers who are heading to Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, as well as to the Polish Lubin and further to Krakow, Kielce and others. Very close to this border checkpoint is the town of Vlodava. If you are heading to it, it will be easier for you to cross the border at Domachevo.

Peschatka: border crossing without queues

At a distance of 55 km north of Brest, there is another international border checkpoint - Peschatka. This is the border located farthest from Brest. Customs with Poland is the least loaded here, there are no or very few queues. Don't stay for more than an hour. If you go to Warsaw, you will see many settlements on the way. This is a minus if you need to move quickly, but a plus if you want to see Poland. "Peschanka" is suitable for those who are heading to Bialystok. From here you can also drive to the Kaliningrad region. There are two routes to get to Peschatka: through Kamenets, and then take it to the left, or through the village of Vysokoye, which is northwest of Brest.

Crossing the border by train

For travelers who travel on their own, a train is an excellent option for crossing the border. This is especially true on Saturday, when they gather long lines from buses and cars. By train, you can get both to Polish Warsaw itself and to Terespol, located right next to Brest. The train crosses the border in just half an hour, customs officers stand at the stations. Those from the Belarusian side may not ask anything at all. Poles can check things, ask about the purpose of entry. Of course, the visa will also be checked. A ticket for the Brest - Terespol train can be bought electronically in advance. It will cost only about 300 Russian rubles. It is perhaps most convenient to take a ticket via the Internet, because in Belarus you will have to pay in Belarusian rubles.

Crossing the border by train is the only way for pedestrians to enter the EU, since they are not allowed to enter the Terespol border post. Bicyclists are also not allowed to pass through this customs.

Along the railway tracks from the border line to the very station of the Polish town of Terespol, a border fence was put up on both sides. This is done in order to protect the country from the smuggling of cigarettes, which can be thrown out the window on the way of the train. Moreover, illegal immigrants will not be able to jump out of the train.
