This tripod is suitable for both video and still cameras. It folds up conveniently for easy storage. You can easily make a tripod with your own hands. How exactly, you will learn in the above and described master class.

materials

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • boards made of durable wood with a thickness of about 1 cm;
  • screws;
  • steel bars;
  • black plastic cases from pens, 3 pcs.;
  • nails;
  • black marker;
  • aluminum plate;
  • mounting bolt from bicycle brakes;
  • stain or varnish for wood;
  • screwdrivers;
  • rulers and compasses;
  • hammer;
  • hand saw;
  • sandpaper;
  • drills;
  • bolts, nuts and washers.

Steel bars can be taken from an old printer. In this case, it was an HP device. The tubes must be removed and cut into pieces 12 cm long.

Step 1. On the board, draw a circle with a radius of 3 cm. Then draw another one, but with a radius of 5 cm. The center of the two figures should coincide.

Step 2. Break the circles into three parts by drawing radii. In the interval between the small and large circle, stepping back 1 cm on both sides of the drawn radii, draw one more line.

Step 3. Attach another thinner board to the marking board. On it, draw a small rectangle 2 cm wide. Step back another 5 cm from it and draw a straight line across the board.

Step 4. Cut out the details of the future tripod, according to the markup. Sand them down.

Step 5. Drill threaded holes for the screws in the places where the parts of the tripod are fastened with a drill. Work very carefully. Assemble the prepared parts of the product together.

Step 6. Cut the pen cases into two parts: large and small. Fasten them to opposite ends of the steel rod.

Step 7. Paint the wooden part of the tripod with wood paint or stain, varnish. Leave everything until the coating is completely dry.

Step 8. Attach the prepared steel rods to the underside of the wooden fasteners. Make markings for the bolts, drill holes for them and assemble the entire structure.

Step 9. Take a 3 x 6 cm aluminum plate and bend it into a "U" shape. Drill one hole each from the sides and the top of the plate. Make another one at the top of the tripod. Using a bicycle brake mount, bolt, nuts and washers, assemble the structure shown in the photo.

Before making an accessory for your smartphone, you need to consider what raw materials to use, because the body of the finished tripod must be strong.

First of all, you need to figure out what tasks the tripod will perform. If you have to use it constantly, then you need to consider which of the materials to choose so that it lasts for a long time. If you plan to use it less often, but want to save money, you can take the raw materials that you always have at home. Let's get down to business.

If you make a wooden stand for a camera or smartphone, it is better to cover it with stain - so it will last a long time.

From plinth for plastic windows

When the glazing in the house is changed to a more modern one, some kind of waste is sure to remain. In this case, we will use them. To begin with, we will prepare all the inventory, so as not to be distracted from work later.

Materials and tools

For work you will need:

  • plinth from plastic windows;
  • hacksaw;
  • drill;
  • metal tube.

Please note that aged plastic will not work, as it may crack during operation.

Step-by-step instruction

  1. We take the rest of the plastic and cut off from it a part half as large as your smartphone.
  2. Let's prepare the fasteners, on which we drill two holes and insert a screw and a locking ball into them.
  3. Let's measure the diameter of each element for fixing. Then we will attach the prepared plastic and mark where these parts will be.
  4. We make holes on a piece of plinth with the appropriate diameter of the feint and the ball.
  5. Now we fasten the adapter and fix the base of the future tripod to it.
  6. We process the edges of the plastic with electrical tape, adhesive tape or silicone glue so that they do not scratch the phone.
  7. Next, we fasten a long telescopic tube (you can use a regular one), put the smartphone in the connector, and then start shooting.

GOOD TO KNOW!

If you doubt the reliability of the holding device, the phone can be fixed with an elastic band. Use thin and elastic, as for a slingshot.

Adjustable cardboard tripod

It may seem to someone that any cardboard is not able to securely hold the phone while shooting. However, if you do everything according to the instructions, you can get a solid tripod for long shooting.

It is better not to use bare aluminum wire for the construction of coasters. It is better to choose one that has a protective shell.

Materials and tools

To make a cardboard tripod, you will need:

  • any cardboard box;
  • scissors;
  • ruler;
  • ball pen;
  • gun glue.

Step-by-step instruction

We will immediately prepare the desktop so that in the process of work we do not waste time searching for inventory. Next, let's start making a tripod.

  1. We cut cardboard box into several parts (you will need three parts measuring 10 × 6 cm).

  2. Now take one part and draw lines on it at a distance of 20 mm from each other. We make four strips and cut off the excess

  3. Now we press each drawn line with a ruler and bend the figure outward. Then we glue the resulting edges together with a gun.

  4. Now we do the same from the second cardboard, only we draw lines at a distance of 16 mm.

  5. Again we push and bend them, we form a figure with a glue gun.

  6. Next, insert the smaller part into the larger one.

  7. We measure the required distance at which the phone should be installed during the shooting and pierce two holes in the cardboard. We insert a latch into them (can be made of paper).

  8. Now, on the edge of the upper fragment of our tripod, we make cuts that will hold the smartphone. Their depth should be at least 1 cm.

  9. Next, we form a stand for a cardboard device. To do this, glue the rest of the box to the prepared tripod with a gun.

As a result of the steps taken, you get a durable homemade tripod with a stand that can be used on the table when taking a selfie or shooting a video.

Plywood smartphone stand

Plywood is one of the wood-based materials. It is used for various purposes. Today we will use such a board for making. For these purposes, you will definitely need a diagram or drawing.

Materials and tools

To create a wooden phone stand, you need to have on hand:

  • simple pencil;
  • plywood;
  • jigsaw.

Step-by-step instruction

  1. Let's prepare the plywood, cut out of it two parts measuring 10.5 × 5 cm and 12 × 5 cm.
  2. Let's grind two fragments, see that there are no burrs on the edges.
  3. We make cutting at a distance of 2-2.5 cm from the side edge of the workpiece. The width of the sawn piece on each part should be no more than 5 mm.
  4. Remember that cuts are carried out approximately to the middle. Next, we connect the two parts together "groove-to-groove".
  5. On a part that has a shorter length, we make a recess with a chisel, then we grind it with sandpaper.
  6. Now we clean our workpiece, and then varnish it or decorate it in an interesting design.
  7. After that, we install our smartphone in the recess and enjoy the result.

From plywood and thin boards, you can make a lot of interesting products in the form of phone stands. If you are creating an accessory for a child, you can use patterns of various animals or colorful geometric shapes as a basis.

Wooden tablet stands

How to make an interesting wooden tripod

Everyone who uses a camera on a smartphone understands that the quality of the picture directly depends on the immobility of the device. The more convenient and secure the phone is on a tripod, the better the image will be.

Materials and tools

  • wooden bars;
  • smartphone holder;
  • fastener from a table lamp;
  • glue gun;
  • thin PVC tube.

Step-by-step instruction

  1. First of all, we will prepare all the available bars for processing. To do this, we grind them from all sides to remove irregularities.
  2. Next, take a large bar and glue small ones to it along the edges.
  3. The wide plane will become the basis of our tripod.
  4. Now glue the PVC tube to the prepared bar.
  5. We drill two symmetrical holes with a diameter corresponding to the fastener.
  6. We insert the fixing element, form a small rectangular bar with the same hole, which is subsequently attached to the reacting mechanism.
  7. On top of the resulting bar we glue another one, a little larger. It will serve as a platform.
  8. Now we attach a plastic holder for the phone to the resulting design in a horizontal position.

After the above steps, you can use a homemade tripod as purchased. Such a device can be used at home to shoot full-length video.

Wooden phone stands

How to make a tripod for a phone from improvised materials

Among the variety of tools and materials that can be used to create homemade tripods, there are options that are always in the house. At this stage, we will burn about such devices.

When there are a lot of holders for folders and papers in the house, they can be used with great benefit for the phone. It is from these devices that we will create a simple tripod.

  1. For a portable stand, we will prepare one large binder and the other smaller.
  2. We open the large fastener, put the handles of the small one in it and slam the structure.
  3. Raise the bottom holder up, then simply place your smartphone on the stand.
  4. Ideally, it would be better to smooth out the edges of the mini tripod to avoid possible scratches on the body of the phone.

GOOD TO KNOW!

Such a device is convenient to carry in your bag, organizer or even in your pocket. Such a gadget will be especially useful for those who work in the office and always keep a cell phone at hand.

Clothespin option

For this purpose, it is advisable to use both plastic and wooden clothespins. However, it is worth noting that the latter will look better, especially if they are decorated in any of the ways. Let's start making the stand.

  1. For the product you will need one ballpoint pen and 5 clothespins.
  2. We fasten all clothespins from the middle to the edge with a cap.
  3. Turn the two extremes in the opposite direction.
  4. The next two (located on opposite sides) are lifted up.
  5. We can assume that the tripod is ready. We install the phone on it and use it as a regular stand or a means for shooting.

In this version of the accessory, you can adjust the tilt of the smartphone.

A tripod from a piece of copper wire

The next homemade version of the stand is more suitable for cameras. It is not difficult to make this accessory, the main thing is to properly prepare all the tools.

  1. We collect the necessary material: silicone tube, copper wire, brass adapters, two bolts, wire cutters, burner, water and dishwashing detergent, epoxy.
  2. We burn the copper wire, observing the safety rules and cool it in water.
  3. We clean the wire with tow, then carefully place it in a silicone tube.
  4. The next step is to put a brass sleeve on the tube, it will serve as a connecting element for the bolt and wire.
  5. Next to the bolt, cut off the hat with a grinder or a metal saw, leaving a 2-3 cm tail.
  6. Next, we screw the resulting part into the adapter and fix it with a glue gun, or better with epoxy. There should be a 0.5 mm part outside the adapter. This will be required for further mounting of the camera.
  7. We fix the opposite side in the same way, only we do not leave the bolt outside.

During use, this device can be wound on tree branches and on any other support in case there is no one nearby, and taking a picture is a matter of first necessity.

When making accessories for electronics, it is better to take materials with a margin.

Dear users. Ask questions in the comments, tell us if you liked the ideas for creating a homemade tripod. If something is not clear, we will discuss it in priority order.

A tripod is a special device that allows you to keep the device in one position. The most popular devices are designed for smartphones, video cameras and microscopes. This article will look at homemade tripods for the phone, microscope, camera, spotlight, and level.

How to make a tripod for a smartphone: option number 1 - from wire

In fact, any thing that can fix the device and hold it for the right time can serve as a tripod for the phone. This is necessary primarily for shooting video or photographing. How to make a homemade tripod?

For the first option, you need a regular cable. It needs to be strong enough, but flexible. Shape the cable so that it matches the shape of a regular phone tripod:

  • 3 supports with which the stand remains flat;
  • on top is a design for attaching a smartphone, which you need to make to fit your phone.

The design will look like the photo below.

The advantage of such a tripod is that it can be mounted on any pipe by bending the supports to fix the structure.

Option number 2 - from stationery clips

The second way to make a homemade tripod is from office paper clips. You will need 2 clips and some flat thing to attach them to. You need to clamp the paper clips on a flat surface at such a distance that you can set the phone on their handles. Everything, the tripod is ready and you can shoot on such a stand no worse than on a regular purchased one.

Option number 3 - from pencils or pens

Third idea: a homemade tripod made of pencils and rubber bands. You must first connect 3 pencils with elastic bands in the form of a triangle so that the lower one, which forms the base of the figure, protrudes. Next, you need to fix another pencil behind the others so that it plays the role of a support. The final design will look like the photo below.

The height and angle of inclination of such a stand can be adjusted by simply moving the rubber bands.

Option number 4 - from the box

Another way is to make a homemade tripod from a small box. This idea is the simplest, since for its implementation you only need a box and a knife. It is necessary to cut the structure so that the base remains intact, and the back forms a stand for the smartphone. This tripod is uncomplicated, but unfortunately the angle of the phone cannot be adjusted.

How to make a tripod for a camera: the first way

For camcorders, tripods are even more in demand than for smartphones. When shooting, you need a clear and static picture in order to make successful and unforgettable shots. Of course, you can buy a stand in the store, but the prices for such designs are not entirely low.

For a homemade tripod for the camera you will need:

  1. 3 razors.
  2. A small piece of board.
  3. Durable adhesive.
  4. Screw.
  5. Sealing ring.
  6. Drill.

First of all, a triangle with equal sides (5-7 cm) should be cut out of the board. In the middle of the figure, you should make a hole with a drill into which you will need to insert a screw. Now on each side of the wooden triangle you need to glue the razors with glue so that they act as tripod legs. A sealing ring must be screwed onto the screw so that the camera does not push the screw down. It remains only to fix the camera on the screw by screwing the screw into the corresponding hole on the device.

Such a stand looks very beautiful, and will also serve as an excellent attribute even for amateur video or photo shooting.

Second way

Surprisingly, you can build a homemade tripod from an ordinary bottle. For this you will need:

  1. A bottle with a cap (preferably a large one).
  2. Screw with a diameter of 0.5 centimeters.
  3. Construction washers (2 pieces).

You need to make a hole in the bottle cap, and then insert the screw there. It is better to make a hole with a drill of a smaller diameter than a screw, so that it can be screwed in and fixed. The screw should be screwed in from the inside, having previously placed the washers inside the cover. Now the design is ready for mounting the camera on it. It must be screwed onto a screw that protrudes from the outside of the cover.

The bottle must be covered with sand or stones so that it does not tip over with the camera. Now you just need to screw the cover with the camera. Homemade tripod is ready.

Such a structure can be attached to a pole or to a tree using straps or elastic bands so that shooting is carried out from a higher place.

DIY microscope tripod

For a homemade tripod for a microscope you will need:

  1. Pipe with a diameter of 25 mm or more for fixing to a table.
  2. Two pipes with a diameter of 25 mm and a length of 20 cm.
  3. Pipe with a diameter of 25 mm, length 15 cm.
  4. Transitional corners with the desired diameter - 2 pieces.
  5. Pipe fittings - 2 pieces.

It is necessary to decide where the main pipe will be fixed on the table, on which the remaining parts will be attached. You need to install it so that it is motionless. Now, at a distance of 5 cm from each other, you need to fix horizontally two pipes of 20 cm each using fasteners. Corners must be installed at the ends of these elements. Then attach another pipe 15 cm long. We get the base of the structure, which is tightly fixed on the table. You can set it to the desired position for work. Next, you need to install the microscope mount, which comes with the device, on the last pipe. The device itself is already attached to the stand for it. So that the structure does not stagger, in the middle of the last pipe you can make a stand from books or other objects.

Despite the complexity of this design, it is very convenient and practical to use due to the fact that it can be installed in any position.

How to make a tripod for a spotlight

To create a design you will need:

  1. Bar (30 mm wide and 20 mm high).
  2. Stick 4.8 meters long (durable).
  3. 5 screws.
  4. Construction washers - 12 pieces.
  5. Bolts - 2 pieces.
  6. Wing nuts - 7 pcs.

From the stick you need to separate 6 parts. It is necessary to make 3 legs 68.2 cm long; 1 piece 110 cm long; 1 piece 99.8 cm long. Now you need to cut a triangle out of the bar, into which the main stick will be placed. In this triangle, you also need to make a square for the size of the base of the stick, which is then placed in this part. Now you need to fasten the legs to the resulting triangle with the help of wing nuts on each side. Cut the ends of the legs diagonally. Next, one more 110 cm long must be screwed perpendicular to the main vertical stick so that the attachment point is 20 cm further from the middle of the stick. It remains only to fix the spotlight handle on a horizontal rod using the same wing nut. On this homemade tripod for the spotlight is ready.

This article has introduced the basic tripods and described the process of making them. step by step manufacturing. As you can see, you can build a stand for almost any device: phone, video or camera, microscope, spotlight. You can also come up with a homemade tripod for the level and other devices that require a mandatory fixed position when using.

  1. No need to place the tripod on uneven surfaces. Even if you managed to put the installation on a bump, it can fall at any time. The device will become unusable as a result of the impact.
  2. Do not install on a tripod, especially homemade, devices that are too bulky, as they may damage the stand.
  3. The horizontalness of the surface can be checked with a level. This will allow you to control the tilt and eliminate jagged footage when shooting video or taking photos.
  4. You should always take a stand with you when shooting video, even if you don't think you'll need it at all. Perhaps a situation will arise when new ideas come to mind, and it turns out that a tripod is necessary in this case.
  5. Do not use the fragile stand in extreme places (such as on rocks). If the structure falls, not only the tripod can be damaged, but also expensive equipment.

Hello,
Today, with their own hands - a telescopic tripod made of polypropylene pipes.

I was inspired to make this tripod by the publication of an article on the website "At Samodelkin" "Tripod for a phone made of polypropylene pipes."

The idea in the article was good, but the execution did not quite suit me, so I decided to make a more advanced version of such a product, namely its telescopic version, which is ideal for field conditions.

Material and accessories for the manufacture of a tripod:

Attention! Pipes, with seeming standardization, are different, therefore, when choosing, you should check them for compatibility (inner and outer diameters should be as close as possible, but at the same time freely enter each other).

Pipe 32 "hot" (polypropylene PN20) - 2 m.

Pipe 20 "hot" (polypropylene PN20) - 2 m.

Plug 32 (polypropylene) - 3 pcs.

Plug 20 (polypropylene) - 3 pcs.

Coupling 50 (polypropylene) - 1 pc.

Plug 32 (HDPE) - 5 pcs.

Square 10 mm. (steel) - 1 meter.

Attention! Preferably 1.5 m, and divided into three parts of 450 mm, but since they are sold in multiples of 1, and in order to save money and reduce the weight of the structure, I took 1.0 m, further dividing into three parts, 330 mm each.

Furniture screw М8 × 70 (60) mm. - 3 pcs.

Bolt M8 × 130 mm - 3 pcs.

Screw-in hinge PVV1 - 9 pcs.

Connecting nut M8 - 6 pcs.

Nut through M8 - 15 pcs.

Engraving washer M8 - 3 pcs.

A set of hardware (M6 × 25 mm bolt + M6 nut + M6 washer) - 9 pcs.

Manufacturing:

The manufacture of a tripod should begin with blanks from polypropylene pipes.

From two-meter pipes PP 32 and PP 20, cut blanks with a length of 500 mm., Three PP 32 and three PP 20 of which will be needed for the manufacture of telescopic “legs” of the tripod, and the remaining two, one each from PP 32 and PP 20, 500 mm., for the central telescopic rod.

At the end of the four plugs PND 32, mark, and then use a pen drill to make holes Ø 32 mm, three of which will then be used to make threaded collets for the legs of the tripod and one for the central telescopic rod.

For a more accurate location of the hole, at the final stage, reaming with a spade drill should be done from the inside of the plug.

At the end of the polypropylene plugs PP 32, in the center, mark and make holes Ø 8 mm and, using nuts and engraving washers M8, fix the “fork” parts of the screwed loop.

With help welding machine install them on one of the ends of polypropylene pipes PP 32, prepared for the manufacture of "legs" of the tripod.

On opposite sides of these pipes (PP 32), as well as on one edge of the pipe prepared for the manufacture of the central telescopic rod (PP 32), mark and drill through holes (for the entire diameter of the pipe) Ø 3 ÷ 4 mm at a distance of 30 mm from the edge .

Drilling holes in cylindrical parts is very convenient on the simplest fixture, the manufacture of which can be found on my profile page on the Samodelkin website, as well as watch the video on my Ideas for Home channel on YouTube video hosting.

To a depth, to the drilled holes, on opposite sides of the pipes, mark and make two cuts.

On the edges of the pipes for the "legs" of the tripod, from the side of the cuts, install collet clamps, previously made from plugs HDPE 32

Next, in the place shown in the photo, drill holes, one for each "leg", Ø 6.7 mm, and cut the M8 thread.

Attention! For tighter screwing of the threaded part of the screwed hinge, all threads should be cut incomplete, only their beginnings.
Next, the "sleeve" part of the six threaded loops, cut to a length of the threaded part equal to 12 mm.

For the convenience of cutting to the desired size, you can pre-screw two through nuts.

With force, screw three of them into the prepared “semi-threaded” holes in the collets.

At the end of the polypropylene plugs PP 20, in the center, mark and make a hole Ø 8 mm and use M8 × 70 mm furniture screws to insert M8 nuts.

Using a welding machine, install them on one of the ends of the polypropylene pipes PP 20, prepared for the manufacture of tripod "legs".

Attention! The M8 × 70 mm furniture screw is used as a guide when welding, and it is necessary to weld so that the M8 nut is clamped between the end of the pipe and the inside of the plug.

Inside, from opposite sides of these pipes, having first grinded off the edges a little (if necessary), insert 10 mm steel squares cut into 330 mm.

It turns out a little heavier, but in the end the whole structure will be more rigid and stable.

Unscrew the furniture screws to the stop and insert the prepared PP20 pipes into the PP32 pipes with installed collets.

If desired, for greater stability when using a tripod in the field, you can cut off the semi-circular heads of furniture screws.

Completely cut off the end of the fifth plug HDPE 32, remove the rubber ring, and slightly smooth the inner diameter of the conical ring with medium-grained sandpaper.

All this is necessary so that the finished part can freely slide along the central telescopic rod.

From the edges of the coupling 50 (polypropylene) cut off two rings 18 mm wide

Using a welding machine, install the rings on the edges of two parts made of HDPE 32 plugs, taking into account the location of their nuts (blue) in the working position (on the pipe).

Fasten the part, with a hole drilled with a pen drill, on the edge, from the side of the slots, of the future central telescopic rod (PP 32), and then in the welded ring, having marked, drill three holes of 6.7 mm, at an equal distance from each other. and cut the M8 thread.

In the ring of another part, the HDPE 32 plugs, with a cut end, having marked, drill three holes Ø 6.7 mm, at an equal distance from each other, cut the M8 thread and screw in the remaining three, previously prepared, “sleeve” parts of the loops.

Important! For tighter screwing and good fixation of the threaded part of the hinges, all M8 threads should be cut incomplete, only their beginnings.

Gather the prepared parts together.

Screw one lock nut onto the three remaining "sleeve" threaded parts of the hinges, and screw into the collet ring of the central telescopic rod.

They should be screwed in to a depth determined by the protruding mating threaded parts of the hinges of the movable part of the central rod of the future tripod.

For me, this size was 36 mm - the size from the top of the loop to the plane of the ring where it is screwed.

Fix the position of the hinges with locknuts.
