4 Styling antique photos in a couple of clicks

The main tool will be your hands and scissors. Antique pearl beads, gold wire, small gold beads, remnants of a music sheet and flowers were chosen for the decor of the collage.

Beads were strung on the wire, the ends of the wire were fixed in such a way that the beads would not slip out (to do this, thread the ends of the wire through the hole of the bead twice).

Then the ends of the "improvised beads" were connected.

They formed beads on a wire in the form of a heart. They glued it on, in some places (for reliability) they fixed it with a thin gold wire.

Arbitrary petals were cut out from the remnants of the music sheet and combined into a flower. They “twisted” the tip of the scissors, gave the desired bends and shapes to each petal.

We fixed the flower on a wire and decorated the core of the flower with beads.

Strengthened the flower on the pearl heart.

Preparation for work

First of all, you need to upload 14 images that will be used. They are quite versatile and will come in handy for other projects:

Begin!
Create a 16x12 cm file and overlay the "paper texture" pattern. If necessary, stretch the image to file size.

Take the image of the sky and put it on this layer. Set the opacity to 30%.

And now a girl. Cut it out of the background and overlay it on the image. Not necessarily all, enough to the waist.

Now let's add background objects. Let's start with a lady in the style of the beginning of the last century. Using the Polygonal Lasso Tool, select her eyes and double-click on the Erase Tool to delete them.

Next is the bird. Select it from the background and download the watercolor brushes from Bittbox. Select our bird: Ctrl + left mouse click and draw. Here you can experiment with colors to the fullest.

Duplicate the previous layer. Next, drag the original layer to a position between the newly created layers and set its transparency to 60%. Select the top layer of the bird image and set it to the “point lightening” position (Pin Light, literally “lightening at the end of the pin”)

Adjust the size and place behind the back of the girl.

Before adding the rest of the objects, let's take a look at the violin. You need to extract it from the background and fill it with black.

Upload a photo of the keys. If necessary, resize and overlay the image on the image of the violin. By pressing the CTRL key + left mouse click, you will select it, and by pressing the Shift + Ctrl + I keys you will invert it. With the "keys" layer selected, press Del.

Harmoniously arrange the violin behind the girl and in the same spirit place the rest of the objects Any transformations are allowed.

Now let's move on to the background. Open the "multi-colored drops" and "tree" images. Adjust their size and overlay the image of drops on the tree. Set the Blending Mode to Color Background (Hue).

Place the tree behind all the foreground objects and lower its opacity to 20%.

Create a white circle on top of the "tree" layer and lower the infill to zero. Use the Layer Control panel.

Duplicate the circle. Everything should look something like this:

Make 4 more circles in the same way, they should be barely visible (transparency 10%).

Upload a "lotus flower" photo, adjust the size and copy twice. Place it on the right circle. Set the Blend Mode to Soft Light.

It's time to go on stage "tank". Get it out of the background and remove the two rear wheels.

Go to layer styles and set the following settings:

Repeat the steps you used for the lotus, but instead of changing the blending mode, lower the opacity to 40%.

Press Shift + Ctrl + Alt + E to create a new layer. On a new layer, go to filters Blur> Motion Blur (blur – motion blur) and set the following settings:

Let's move on to the image: settings - levels (Adjustments> Levels). Change the blending mode on this layer to “soft light” (Soft Light). Set the following parameters:

What's left? On this layer, you need to blur more and erase the bottom of the image. By pressing Ctrl + T we change the size of the layer, then select the “Erase” tool and in the “soft brush” mode (Soft Brush) delete the bottom part

Create a new layer for Hue/Saturation mode and use the following settings:

To make the central figure of the collage more eye-catching, we will tint the girl's lips. Create a new layer and use a soft brush to line the tips of the lips with a bright red color. The transparency of this layer is around 50%.

Create a new layer and use a large soft brush (about 200 pixels) to blur the edges of the image with black. The Opacity should be set to 60% and the Blending Mode set to Soft Light.
