The electronic unit (Fig. 1) of a stationary watch is designed to supply second impulses to the electromagnetic coil (motor) of the clock mechanism and generate a bell sound signal.
The power supply is generally accepted - one element with a voltage of 1.5 Volts type AA.
It is acceptable to install a 1.2 volt NI-MH battery element R6, the price of such an element is commensurate with the price of a watch. In addition to such an element, a charging unit is needed.
To give a sound signal, a BF1 sound capsule is installed. Clock failure is often caused by a broken winding L1 of the motor. The accuracy of the supply of second pulses is very high, since it is stabilized by a ZQ1 quartz resonator. The bell signal is switched on by contacts SA1, the closure of which occurs when the arrows are set to the appropriate position.
The working board contains ZQ1 quartz and a DD1 chip. The microcircuit includes: a generator, the frequency of which is stabilized by quartz; frequency divider by 32768, with the output of single pulses with a frequency of 1 Hertz and 1000 Hertz. Low frequency is used to rotate the hand motor, high frequency is used to signal the bell. To make the sound of the call more pleasant, the call signal is modulated.
The DD1 microcircuit, during testing, withstood the supply voltage from 1.5 to 12 Volts, overheated rather quickly at an increased voltage, high-quality output signals were observed at a supply voltage of 3 Volts.
The order of alternation of outputs of a frameless microcircuit is conditional for the first output assigned to the left contact of quartz ZQ1 and then counterclockwise, around the microcircuit.
The BF1 electrodynamic head in the watch has an internal resistance R=13.8 Ohm.
The circuit is used with minor alterations according to Fig. 2, aimed at increasing the power of the sound signal and LED indication of the sensor operation.
Application of the electronic unit:
This electronic block can be used: in two-tone generators; sound sirens; security alarm; liquid level control; light beacons; sound sensors; generators of second pulses and control frequency.
In this device, the circuit is used in a burglar alarm to alert unauthorized persons to the premises. Instead of a mechanical sensor SA1, it is possible to use a temperature or light sensor.
The block is installed directly on the jamb of the door or window, the sensor contacts are closed during the opening of the door or window sashes. The sound signal is installed in the protected area, and the LEDs are on the door, from the side of the entrance. The signal can also be output to the entrance security panel.
Since the signal at the outputs 5.6 DD1 (where the motor winding was previously connected) is bipolar, the two LEDs HL1, HL2 switch alternately every second. Installing a battery instead of an AA battery in the power supply will extend the standby time.
The time between flash pulses can be changed by adding a 30 pF capacitor between pins 1.3 or 2.3DD1.
The presence of the volume control R3 allows you to set an acceptable signal level.
